Eligibility
The Associated Students of Arizona State University (ASASU) currently seeks applications for the 2008 ASASU Centennial Professorship. This year, ASASU seeks to recognize emerging leaders from the junior faculty. Candidates for this award must have made significant contributions to the students of Arizona State University through outstanding instruction both in and out of the classroom. Assistant and associate professors, as well as instructors and lecturers are eligible for this award.However nominees may not be graduate students and must be considered actual full-time faculty.
The Reward
The Associated Students will provide monetary awards to up to two deserving professors, and all recipients will hold the title of Associated Students Centennial Professor for the 2008-2009 academic year. The award includes a cash prize of $5,000 and a stipend of $5,000 to be used for the benefit of students and classroom teaching. Appropriate uses of the stipend include improving technology in a lab or classroom and hiring student research assistants. In addition, the Centennial Professor will conduct one public lecture per semester.
How To Nominate and Apply
The nominations period for this year's Centennial Professorship Award will close on March 31,2008. The deadline for the nominee to submit application material is March 28, 2008 by 4PM.
