Bio: Rob Edsall is an Assistant Professor of Geography in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He received his PhD in Geography from Penn State in 2001, and before that received an MS in Meteorology from Penn State and a BA in Music from Kenyon College (OH). He teaches courses in map design, map creation, Maps and the Internet, Geographic Information Science, and geographic visualization. He has been involved in research projects with the Decision Theater for a New Arizona, Decision Center for a Desert City, Global Institute for Sustainability, the School for Geographical Sciences, and his own Arizona Geographic Analysis, Visualization, and Interaction Lab. He lives what he teaches, always looking for real-life ways of incorporating his interests and travels into his career. He enjoys exploring with his students all of the ways that knowledge of the world and the space around them helps us better understand ourselves.
